Scott Suddreth – Director

Scott Suddreth - Director

Scott has been an invaluable asset since joining the Building Performance Engineering team in 2000. Since that time, Scott has been the Technical Program Director for Building Performance Engineering. He has been highly involved in every aspect of our business—from mechanical design and green certifications to workshops, trainings and market research. Scott is one of our primary Building Performance Institute (BPI) trainers. He is a HERS rater,  BPI-certified Building Analyst, Envelope Professional, Heating Professional, AC & Heat Pump Professional, RBE-WHALCI,  Proctor, and Super Proctor.

After receiving his M.A. from Appalachian State University in Industrial Technology, Scott became the director for A.R.I.S.E. (Appalachian Regional Initiative for Sustainable Energy), which championed local efforts to bring alternative forms of energy to the High Country. Scott has also been a key component of the Non-Profit Weatherization Assistance program, which has provided audits and efficiency solutions for non-profit agencies across the state.

As a native of Lenoir, North Carolina, Scott understands the challenges that face North Carolina and the growing need for “green-collar” workforce development. He spends the majority of his time researching new ways for growth and opportunities for training and education within our industry. When not at Building Performance Engineering, Scott enjoys being outdoors—especially hunting and fishing—and also enjoys barefoot running. Scott and his wife, Anne-Marie, live in Blowing Rock, North Carolina with their two daughters.
